Ask Me About....- Options Assembly - was great! We liked the sound the Movement group chose. It was interesting how they showed the actions figuratively. Having the four groups in the corners was interesting when all the people in the groups were doing the same thing at the same time. The animation took a lot of time... that was cool. It was good and they put a lot of hard work. It was cool to see how much research the Art Intervention group put into their work. Everyone had their own project and nothing overlapped which showed that we are doing a lot of things to the wetlands that we shouldn't. - Math - we have been learning about volume. We used architectural drawings (top, front, side) to make rectangular solids. We created a tower city and drew it in 3D using triangle dot paper. We know that volume is length x width x height and have used some of the volume games from our links page to practice calculating volume. After completing our Boxes in Boxes activity we will be looking at patterns and also measuring angles. - Science - we are researching adaptations, interactions, and the food chain of the animals and insects we put on our murals. We will be writing paragraphs for these next week. - Social - Ms. Huszar will be teaching us social for about a month while Mrs. Austman works with some grade 3/4 classes on math. We made infographics on a topic and now we will be researching and making an infographic about our nation - Writing - we watched videos of animals (without sound) and made up dialogue for what they might be saying. Next week we will make sure we know how to punctuate and add tag lines to our dialogue. - Literacy - after gathering feedback on our success criteria for "Satisfying Endings', in our Quest stories, we completed a final edit. Students who have not finished the main event will be finishing these stories on our own time, by next Friday. We began to gather information about Earth Day from multiple sources early in the week. Next week we will use the 'Stop List' strategy to organize our information for writing. - Granted - Ophelia is in a hawk's talons! She broke her wing, me ta dog named Sam, got hit by a truck and found donuts... her one weakness. Amazingly, she can still hear the wish> - Gym - we spent a lot of time playing games outside because of the great weather. We learned new games from Mr. Arron.
